The “1. Wiener Gemeindebauchor” (1st Viennese Municipal Housing Choir), an initiative of the “Wohnpartner” neighbourhood service, was founded in 2008. At the start of 2025, a dedicated young woman, Nelli Goncharuk, took over as director of the choir. Rehearsals take place weekly in the 10th and 22nd districts of Vienna. With close to 70 members, the choir’s motto is “singing makes hearts beat in time”, underlining the significant contribution that the choir makes towards creating a good neighbourly atmosphere in the community. The Gemeindebauchor performs at numerous events and is the opening act at the International Advent Singing Festival.
