CMW was founded in 1978 and has long been known in Vienna’s music scene for its excellent musical masses in the Jesuit Church, which, like its regular concerts in venues such as the Vienna Musikverein, the Konzerthaus and other prestigious concert halls in Vienna, are accompanied by members of the Vienna Symphony Orchestra. Georg Stangelberger took on the role of CMW’s artistic director in the autumn of 2019. He has been awarded the Decoration of Honour for Services to the Republic of Austria for his musical work.
