DESCRIPTION:Conventus Musicus is a mixed choir that was formed in 1983 in Hietzing. The choir\, which is made up of close to 25 enthusiastic ladies and gentlemen\, is seeking reinforcements in every register. It meets every Tuesday for weekly rehearsals at the Orthopaedic Hospital in Speising.\nElisabeth Kirchner has been leading the choir since February 2017\, with Regina Linhart as its new chairwoman since 10 January 2017. Its repertoire extends from classical choral works to masses\, folk songs and German-language pop. Much of this is performed a capella.

DESCRIPTION:The many choirs\, known in Vienna as “ABChöre”\, are part of the children’s and youth choirs from the City of Vienna’s music schools. Aged between eight and twelve\, the children gather experiences in the “ABCs of choir singing”. They sing one to three-part pieces from various periods and styles. DESCRIPTION:Founded in 1992 by Thomas Pulker at BRG 14\, the school choir “Via Lentia”\, with its approximately 40 pupils from years 2 to 8\, has since performed at numerous events in Vienna\, in the federal provinces and on tours abroad. The choir has already recorded three CDs – the videos can be found on YouTube. Maria Reichart became choir leader in 2024. The choir’s repertoire ranges from the Renaissance period all the way to the 20th century. It also likes to include Austrian folk songs\, spirituals and pop songs.

DESCRIPTION:The Carinthian Singing Community in Vienna (“Kärntner Singgemeinschaft in Wien”) is made up of 40 singers and was founded in 1980 by a group of students originally from Carinthia with the aim of preserving Carinthian songs in their adopted home of Vienna. Bernhard Sturm\, a former member of Vienna Boys’ Choir and graduate of the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna\, has been the choirmaster since 1984. Alongside its many performances in Austria\, the choir has also thrilled international audiences during trips abroad\, such as at the “Concorso Corale Internazionale”\, an international choir competition with 38 choirs from 13 countries\, where it received a Gold Diploma.

SUMMARY:Estnisch-Österreichischer Chor „Pillerkoor“
DESCRIPTION:“Pillerkoor” strives to always remain true to its name and to celebrate a\npillerkaar (“party” in English) of music. Far from their home\, the choir’s international\nsingers follow the call of Estonian choir music\,\ninterpreting predominantly traditional as well as modern Estonian\nmusic since 2014. However\, under the artistic direction of David Kaldma in the “Nordlichter” (Northern Lights) programme\, the\nvoices of the Pillerkoor ring out in languages\nand Christmassy sounds from all of Scandinavia and the Baltics.

DESCRIPTION:Founded in 1982\, “Alba Regia” mixed choir holds an important position in the cultural life of the city of Székesfehérvár in Hungary. Directed by Imre Kneifel\, the choir’s work is also characterised by concert evenings\, oratorio concerts and opera performances as well as the organisation of the annual choir event in Székesfehérvár. It has won awards such as the silver prize as a “CONCERT CHOIR” at the international Musica Sacra choir competition in Rome\, or the “Fricsay Richárd” prize. Winner of the “Pro Civitate”\, “Fricsay Richárd” and KÓTA awards.

DESCRIPTION:In April 2003\, a group of young and experienced singers gathered together for the choir’s first concert in Spillern in Lower Austria\, aptly titled “Sing\, Swing and Soul – Music from around the World”. The title became the name of the choir\, and “Music from around the world” its motto. It performs a repertoire of modern choral music\, spirituals\, traditional songs from a wide range of cultural backgrounds\, traditional German folk songs\, German-language pop songs and hits from film and television. SingSwingSoul has been a registered choral society since 2018 and a member of the Choral Society of Lower Austria since 2021.

DESCRIPTION:Founded in Vienna in 2003 by Argentine Rubén Guarnaschelli\, the choir’s repertoire includes folklore and compositions from all over Latin America. In addition to Spanish\, the choir sings in Portuguese and indigenous languages. Among the highlights of the choir\, made up of over 40 singers from different Latin America and European countries\, is a tour of Argentina and Uruguay in 2007\, and performances of Misatango by Martín Palmeri at Vienna Konzerthaus. The current choirmaster since 2022 is Camilo Leins from Chile.

DESCRIPTION:Klub.Singers is a choir made up of music-loving members of three of the City of Vienna’s Pensioners’ Clubs: “Im Werd”\, “Schlagergasse” and “Salvatorgasse”. Also under the musical direction of Katharina Stanetty\, volunteers from the Wiener Hilfswerk Choir have been singing folk songs\, Viennese songs\, German-language pop songs\, classical songs and gospels together for over 15 years. Together they will be performing traditional\, gospel and folk songs at the Advent Singing.

DESCRIPTION:The soprano choir\, Chorifeen\, is made up of 5th to 8th-year school pupils of BORG Grieskirchen. After successfully passing the entrance examination for vocal lessons\, the singers receive targeted individual and group voice training as well as lessons in ensemble and choir singing. Most recently\, the choir was honoured as the Upper Austrian Choir of the Year 2025 in the Youth category. In 2023\, it was awarded “outstanding achievement” at the Bundesjugendsingen youth choir festival.

DESCRIPTION:The Wiener Männergesang-Verein was founded in 1843 and is among the oldest male voice choirs in the German-speaking world. The choir is a co-founder of the Musikverein building\, where performances in the Golden Hall are a highlight of any artist’s career. Emperor Franz Joseph described the Wiener Männergesang-Verein as “my beloved court minstrels”. Johann Strauss composed songs for the choir\, such as “The Blue Danube”\, which became Austria’s unofficial hymn. Since 2022\, women have also been singing first and second tenor.

DESCRIPTION:This very special choir\, whose name translates as the “1st Viennese ‘I can’t sing’ Choir”\, was founded to encourage all those who have so far lacked the courage to sing and to share with them the joy and positive impact of collective singing. This year\, the choir has already celebrated highlights such as performances in Rome and as part of the International Choir Festival at the Vienna Musikverein. The choir group is led by jazz and blues singer\, Lilli Kern\, who delights and wins people over with her singing. Andreas Resch accompanies the choir on the guitar.

The choir now has close to 60 singers from a wide range of social and age groups\, from every district of Vienna and from seven different nations\, creating a highly diverse and extremely colourful ensemble. The choir’s repertoire ranges from the great works of choral music to national and international folk songs and world premieres.
