SUMMARY:Duhallow Choral Society
DESCRIPTION:The Duhallow Choral Society was founded by Brigid Daly in Newmarket\, Cork on 6 March 1996 with the aim of promoting choral music and culture in the Duhallow region. With around 90 members\, the choir sings church\, pop\, classic and traditional music with television coverage. It has performed on prestigious stages in Austria and abroad – including in Belgium\, Rome\, New York and Chicago – and has sung for eminent figures such as President Michael D. Higgins\, Senator Hillary Clinton and Mayor Rahm Emanuel. Sharon Reidy from South Africa has been directing the choir with great empathy since 2007.

DESCRIPTION:The choir of the Croatian cultural association\, Hrvatsko Kulturno Drustvo\, was founded in 2011. Its members originate from seven bilingual towns and villages in Southern Burgenland and sing mainly in Croatian\, but also in German and English. The choir rehearses weekly in Güttenbach for performances at church ceremonies\, cultural events and festivals along with Advent and Christmas concerts.

SUMMARY:Coro Polifonico Boxis de Luna
DESCRIPTION:The polyphonic choir “Boxis de Luna” comes from Sardinia and was founded in 2012 in Lunamatrona. Directed by Lorenzo Zonca\, spiritual and secular songs from all eras as well as traditional Sardinian songs are practised and performed. Since 2014\, the International Choral Festival “Al Sole della Sardegna” has been drawing huge crowds at the Church of San Giovanni Battista with its spiritual songs and Christmas carols. In the spring\, the choir organises its “In…Canto” concert\, with a special focus on the most contemporary forms of choral singing.

DESCRIPTION:The choral association\, Nordbahnbund\, is a four-part mixed choir that looks back on 150 years of history. It was founded as a Men’s Choral Society in 1875 by employees of the Emperor Ferdinand Northern Railway.\nThe musical focus is on (historical) workers’ songs\, songs from Vienna and Floridsdorf from Strauß to Molden and all things related to the railway – e.g. the “Bundesbahnblues” (Federal Railway Blues) – or water. The latter is owed to our summer rehearsal spot by the Old Danube.

With violin\, piano and vocals\, they mix whatever inspires them – sometimes classical\, sometimes something completely different. At the Advent singing event in Vienna City Hall\, they show how versatile music can be when you experience it together.
